Apply for grant Grants Programme Grants Programme Since Oasis was formed back in 1989, we have given away more than £1 million in grants to other charities and those working with people living with HIV or undertaking prevention work. The Grants programme is now closed. Wandsworth Oasis exists to improve the quality of life for people affected by HIV and to work towards eradicating the virus in the UK, eliminating stigma and providing quality support. Over the last 30 years we have awarded more than £1 million to HIV support and prevention projects. We invite applications for our main grants once a year. We are particularly keen to receive applications from those with innovative ideas based around our key themes, or groups and charities that haven’t connected with us before. We give grants to projects and groups that help to improve the quality of life of people affected by HIV and to HIV awareness and prevention work. We do not have a fixed amount of funds to distribute in discretionary grants each year, with some funding already committed to multi-year projects and grants awarded earlier in the year. The amount of funding available depends on the success of our retail trading and fundraising activities. What is the focus of our grants? The aim of any funding is to provide financial support to groups who: provide help and support to persons who are HIV positive or those affected by HIV and their families. support the provision of education and training to members of the public in fighting the stigma to such persons living with HIV and in the better understanding of HIV. We’ve identified six key priorities where our grants can make the biggest difference to the local community within the areas of HIV support, prevention and awareness: Improve Health and Wellbeing Reduce loneliness, stigma and social isolation Grow capacity and sustainability of the charity Provide support in time of a crisis Create innovative and positive interactions with young people Projects that help to create community connections, particularly with BAME community groups To be considered for funding, your activity should meet at least one of the above priority themes. More details are available on the How to Apply For A Grant page, including detailed guidelines and the application forms. We look forward to hearing from all our local charities and groups, but are particularly interested to hear from those with innovative ideas based around our key themes, as detailed above. We are especially keen to invite applications from groups and charities that haven’t connected with us before and would like support for initiatives that promote and champion partnership working, bring like-minded groups together to strengthen ambition and, by working together, reach wider and more diverse sections of our community. We have 3 different funding streams. Check out which fits best with your requirements...
