I have 10 books that I haven't got around to starting yet so I want to read one chapter a day for 30 days. This challenge is inspired by wanting to expand my knowledge on important issues such as climate degradation and the history of HIV and AIDS in the UK.
Because helping it’s a nice thing to do
The majority of this small team running Red Run 2021 currently live or are previous residents of Wandsworth borough. Supporting a local charity was particularly important to us, in addition to HIV being a subject very close to our hearts. Wandsworth Oasis have worked tirelessly to champion those living with HIV and challenge the stigma surrounding it and by raising money from this 10km run, we hope to help this brilliant cause continue its vital work.
Wandsworth Oasis was a passion of one of my dearest friends. I want to honour his passion by keeping a promise to always support the work of Wandsworth Oasis.
We are fundraising for Wandsworth Oasis. This charity aims to support and de-stigmatise people who are HIV-positive. The first Wandsworth Oasis AIDS Care Centre was established in 1989, our year of birth. This created a much needed support network for those living with HIV/AIDS in south London. Nowadays, Wandsworth Oasis has 10 charity shops in London, most of them being located in the Wandsworth borough. We chose this charity because of its human size and geographic proximity to where we live.
